Saints Essay: Saint Catherine of Bologna

Essay:

Image result for saint catherine of bologna       Catherine had a talent that no one could deny. She was truly gifted in many things. My saint is Catherine de’vigri of Bologna (bowl-lown-nia)  or Catherine of Bologna she was born september 8th 1413 and died on March 9, 1463. She was and is the patron saint of artists, liberal arts, against temptations and Bologna. In the beginning of her life, Catherine had many good opportunities and an amazing education from being the companion of the marquees daughter, but she still wanted to pursue the religious life.  So she decided to join a convent during this time, her convent disagreed in whether to continue following the Augustinian rule or to instead adhere to the Franciscan rule. A Rule is a specific expression of the Christian life which calls the men or women of a particular religious order to a daily pattern of prayer, work and charity. She was admired by her companions for her holiness and strived for a life of perfection. In 1413 cathrine and other young women founded a monastery of the order of poor clares also founded by St.Francis and St.Clare of Assisi. In the monastery catherine took the lesser roles in the convent Through her efforts with Pope Nicholas V, the Poor Clare convent at Ferrara erected an enclosure, and Catherine was appointed Superioress. That office made her responsible for providing pastoral care and spiritual oversight to all of sisters. The reputation of the Community for its holiness and austerity became widespread.she became very ill during lenten season and died on march 9th .

My saint is inspirational because she used  her  passion to spread the message  of  God.  She lived up to her expectations in an amazing way  a way that I could dream  of  achieving  this may not seem like something “inspiring” but when you think about it it is cathrine found a way to follow both her passions and succeed in being recognized by her peers and many other not to mention her fabulous paintings.she also found success with the written word by writing the seven spiritual weapons for spiritual warfare which was a major point in her career it made her even more recognized and was also an important part of her canonization. Catherine is amazing because she followed her dreams and succeeded in every one of them and i think that this shows the value of faith ,hard work, and last but not least patients.

Catherine of bologna is also a very humble person, even though she had aristocratic background and education, Catherine willingly served in the lesser  roles at the convent, including laundress washing people's clothes and her own, baker and chef, last but not least as a caretaker to the animals. Late in her life (40-50), she respectively and obediently left her beloved Ferrara monastery  to form a new convent in Bologna, where she served as abbess even thought she wanted to play a bigger role.cathrine shows the qualities of humilitey in many ways and is an amazing person morally and religiously.

Catherine is an inspiring and good natured person. Anyone can call someone inspiring or good and not really mean it  but saint catherine  actually was because where most would become selfish and rotten she was pure having money is like watering your plants overwater your plant and it will never thrive the same is for under watering it it would shrivel up and die in most cases this is true money spoils people but catherine still  understood the values of respecting your place and hard work which is a rare and valued qualitey.

We Are Proud to Call You Canadian

''We are proud to call you Canadian''          ''  Canada welcomed a new citizen April 12. This brave teen was born in Pakistan. She is the world’s youngest Nobel laureate. '' - we are proud to call you Canadian

'In  the article ''we are proud to call you Canadian'' we are introduced to our new citizen Malala also the youngest person ever to receive a noble prize and the youngest person to have an honer Canadian citizenship. In a broader  sense the article is about the new citizen malala and how we are honored to have her here as the tittle states (we are proud to call you Canadian) There are many articles on the topic one states: “In his introduction, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hailed her as “everyday” hero, the target of an assassination attempt simply for promoting the rights of girls and women to attend school.       -thestar.com

I think that this is an amazing move on our account because Malala is a model when it comes to not settling for something unfair she will truly be an asset to our country. She has some deeply meaningful opinions and outlooks that really show how much she cares about what she is talking about.  “The man who attacked Parliament Hill called himself a Muslim — but he did not share my faith. He did not share the faith of one and a half billion Muslims, living in peace around the world. He did not share our Islam — a religion of learning, compassion and mercy,” - Malala

So in conclusion I think that Malala will improve our economy and will have a tremendous impact on our country like how she impacted her country and that she will send a positive message to girls and women all over the world about women empowerment. and last but not least show people that think that people of different ethnicity.

Busy Signal

Busy Signal
The article busy signal is about how teenagers and kids are using their technology in class  inappropriately and teachers trying to prevent that from affecting their learning. I find this to be a valid point people do need to focus in school but it will get the students mad about this lack of technology. But I think that the most rational solution would be to not to allow phones during classes but still allow them anywhere in between like during lunch or breaks and if there should be someone who brings there phone to a class that's fair take it away or gives them detention they broke the rules. But if students will be using there phone in class then teach them how to use it properly and appropriately maybe start a class for coding and engineering with the apps available to smart phones and ipods .

March break

March Break
Over the march break me and my family wanted to go somewhere warm so we went to Cuba but not just as a vacation we went to visit even MORE family as if i don't have enough .But we did go some places my favorite was a small market place that was bustling with people of all shapes and sizes noisily hovering from booth to booth while the small of oak trees filled the air. Because the market was in a fairly large building the room was brightened by the unnatural florescent lights in each booth that was also giving the products it sold a harsh and bright light, as if the venders were boasting of how the products they sold were flawless and daring you to think otherwise. Most of the products were lined up in nice neat lines small up front bigger in the back some colourful like wooden fans or others dark and only one colour like my new hair trinket that looks like i can pull it out and accidentally poke out someone's eye also wood just not painted. But my favorite part was a large section just for paintings. Mostly of faces some realistic some cartoons some realistic with abstract twists. like my favorite one there a painting with a blue background and a life like looking face. BUT there were yellow and green blocks most likely made with a large painting knife all strategically placed on the cheeks and forehead. Finally at the end of the maze of creativity that you had just entered was a large opening in the wall after walking up a few steps the sun hits me and so does a pleasant breeze.

The Walkie Talkie
Donald Hings was a radio operator and an inventor working with some Geologists in a large forest in British Columbia but when they were heading back to their base the plane that was going to get them was grounded  he and his traveling companions decided to try and hike to a certain point that was going to let them send a message to the base but they got lost the woods and well they had no walkie talkie after Donald got back he could not stop thinking what if I made something that could help them talk to head office and vice versa. The means of communication was very different then it is nowadays the machines that translated morse code were huge big enough to fill the whole wall so he just made everything smaller and added some new technology so that you could hear and transmit voices clearly.  This clever inventor was given a  medal for his contribution and saving many lives on the battlefield.

Awesome blog

when you say something and it blows someones       mind

Mind Blowing shit
No doubt when you say something and the person your talking to mind explodes your thinking HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA " THAT IS SO OBVIOUS". Well even if its super obvious  or mind bending  blowing to just beating your friend at where is waldo it's fun to blow your friends mind its awesome !

Remember that time when they looked so freaked out I remember when i told my friend that the fondant tasted like play dough smells she said that is so true and made a mind blown gesture so random but still                                                                    awesome!

genius hour

Genius Hour

For my genius hour,I decided to learn chemistry to be specific the configuration/molecular structure and Newtons third law because the truth is chemical reactions (making things explode) is always interesting. One of the most important things to keep in mind when learning chemistry: IT IS HARD! molecular structure then I said this is college level slow down. so I started with something simple the periodic table with crash course chemistry the best thing about this video is that if you slow it down you realize how much information gold you have.later i will search for another topic.

History Of The Periodic Table

Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev was very interested with the periodic table which was not perfected at that time  what  he was the person who realized that the way of ordering the elements by the atomic weight was not the one that made the most sense. Instead he changed  the periodic table to be sorted by the  reactions to each other like lithium, sodium, potassium, and rubidium were all extremely prone to chlorine,Fluorine, iodine, and bromine and that Beryllium, Magnesium,Calcium, and strontium were similar . he might have been missing elements but that didn't stop him he even made some guesses to what they were, and one day a french scientist said that he discover ed one but Dmitri said that he was wrong because he didn't imagine it in his mind and the crazy thing , he was right!

How The Periodic Table Is Laid Out

#1 Nonmetals/hydrogen(H) 1 nonmetals/hydrogen (h) is in its own category on the top hydrogen is water which makes up 73% of the visible matter

#2 Just under the lonely element of H we have the alkali metals known to extremely  reactive the are so reactive that they have to be stored in inert gases or oil to keep from reacting to the atmosphere  and they are good conductors the metals are Lithium, Sodium ,Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium, and Francium.

#3 Next are the Alkaline earth metals reactive but not as reactive as their  neighboring metals  the alkali. the names of the metals are Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, and Radium.

#4 Transition metals or the rectangle in the middle of the periodic table with traits like high melting  boiling points, electrical conductors  their names are Scandium, Yttrium, Titanium ,Zirconium, Hafnium, Rutherfordium, Vanadium, Niobium, Tantalum, Dubnium,Chromium, Molybdenum, Tungsten,Seaborgium ,Manganese, Technetium,Rhenium, Bohrium, Iron, Ruthenium, Osmium ,Hassium,Cobalt,Rhodium,Iridium, Meitnerium, Nickel, Palladium, Platinum,Darmstadtium,Copper,Silver, Gold,Roentgenium,Zinc,Cadmium,Mercury,And finally 😅Copernicium.

#5 Metals,Metalloids,Gases,Nonmetals These are all in their own world. They don't follow the crowd they are the only ones that are scattered all over the place. They are also not able to become ions unless you shoot other ions at them and most are used for organic chemistry. They are Hydrogen,Boron,Aluminum,
Gallium,Indium,Thallium,Ununtrium (Unknown) ,Carbon, Silicon, Germanium, Tin,Lead,Flerovium,Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Arsenic,Antimony,Bismuth,Ununpentium (Unknown) ,Oxygen, Sulfur, Selenium, Tellurium,Polonium, and Livermormoirium.

#6 Halogens

these are the reactive gases of the periodic table they all form negative ions with one negative charge and are mostly reactive to our friends on the far right the alkali and alkaline earth metals.Like Fluorine,Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine, Astatine,Ununseptium (Unknown).

#7 Noble gases

The noble gases can not and will not react to anything.
Helium,Neon,Argon,Krypton,Xenon,Radon,and Ununoctium (Unknown) ,

#8 Lanthanides,Actinides

These elements are so similar to each other that they were largely undiscovered back when Mendeleev was studying the table.they are Lanthanum, Actinium, Cerium, Thorium, Praseodymium, Protactinium,Neodymium,Uranium, Promethium,Neptunium, Samarium ,Plutonium,Europ, Europium, Americium, Gadolinium, Curium,Terbium, Berkelium,Dysprosium,Californium,Holmium,Einsteinium,Erbium, Fermium,Thulium,Mendelevium,Ytterbium,
Nobelium,Lutetium,Lawrencium.

Mercury

The reason that i chose mercury is because the fact that it's a metal liquid is so peculiar and strange.Mercury is a very dangerous substance and i know that because the first  video on YouTube was about how it's dangerous (second video) and the second one was about mercury poison. The third one (first link) however was this. PREPARE TO CRINGE !

Basically Mercury is a type of metal in the form of a liquid it is also extremely dense so when you flout something on it like one of those pool table balls or a metal nail it will flout . also it can not be soaked up by a sponge .It is also extremely poisonous and is not something that people should have lying around the house.Mercury can easily be cleaned up if you know how to do it properly and  the location of the mercury .But if even the tiniest bit of this liquid metal can breath poisonous vapors in the air that you breath.people usually have these problems when they would break there thermometers and the old fashioned ones not the new ones.Thermometers as in the things that you put in your mouth as in mercury in your mouth.Another product that people also use with mercury (and this is more recent) florescent light bulbs but the difference is the amount it's o.k to have one break once in a while not as dangerous as a thermometer but recycling them is a good idea .

Just Because
